MC Tony Hall was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. Tony was introduced to hip-hop through a childhood friend. Tony remembers, “The first rap tape I ever heard was Boogie Down Productions and KRS ONE”. Between 2000 and 2006, Tony dropped 4 independent albums under the stage name Solja Boy. In 2007, he recorded music under his government name due to controversy surrounding what he calls “identity theft”. Tony connected with Michael Chambers, President of Cream Factory Records at a performance in a bay area (Northern California) nightclub. Chambers and Hall hit it off both being from the Carolinas (Mike Chambers was born and raised in North Carolina). Tony signed with Cream Factory due to its roster containing northern Cali and southern artist. “We listen to a lot of bay music in the south because it hits hard in the trunk”. Tony explains, “they’re (the bay) is also known for being the birth place for indie music”. “That’s why a lot of southern artist like Lil’ Jon and David Banner give the bay props”. Mike Chambers describes his label as The Civil Union between the North and the South. Tony Hall brings his southern twang to Cream Factory Records with “The Tony Hall Show”. The Tony Hall Show blends northern and southern producers over hard hitting tracks and a strong lyrical content. Music you can dance to, ride to or chill to describe this project. The production is clever and with the knocker “Do Your Own Dance” its snap meets get low. Audiences will appreciate the musical blend keeping true to each region. “This is the first album of its kind”, says Mike Chambers “And I believe this will launch collaborations with producers and artist alike from different regions”. Look for a Tony Hall show in your town soon.
